Synonyms:
Distribution: C - Sar. S - Si.
Description: Thallus crustose, parasitic on the thalli of yellow Rhizocarpon-species, dark grey, areolate, forming 0.5-1 mm wide patches on the thalli of the host, several thalli often becoming confluent and forming larger patches; prothallus evident, grey, spreading on the areoles of the host. Areoles flat, more or less polygonal, with sharp edges, c. 0.5-1 mm wide, epruinose. Medulla white, I+ blue. Apothecia common, lecideine, black, round, dispersed or in groups at the margins of the areoles, totally or partially immersed, 0.3-0.7-(1) mm across, with a flat to slightly convex disc, soon immarginate.
