Description: Similar to G. thelotremella, but apothecia with a black margin and disc, and ascospores smaller, submuriform, measuring (9-)10.5-13(-14) x (5.5-)6-8.5 μm, this calcicolous species has been recently described from the Maritime Alps of France, on steeply inclined dolomitic rocks at 1265 m (Roux & coll. 2014). It should be looked for also in Italy.
