Distribution: S - Pugl (Thüs & Licht 2006).
Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, grey, often granular-warty, thin, continuous. Apothecia immersed in 1.5-2 mm wide, soralia-like thalline warts, 1(-3) per wart, with a widely open, black, but densely and coarsely white-pruinose disc, and an often lacerate, sometimes sorediate thalline margin. Epithecium blackish brown, K+ violet; hymenium colourless, often poorly developed; paraphyses sparingly branched, slender, 1.5-2 µm thick; hypothecium colourless. Asci 1-spored, broadly cylindrical, the apex without a distinct ocular chamber, the outer sheath K/I+ blue, otherwise K/I–, with an inner extensible layer, Pertusaria-type. Ascospores 1-celled hyaline, narrowly ellipsoid, 70-125(-150) x (25-)30-40(-45) µm, the wall smooth, uniformly c. 3 µm thick. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: medulla K+ yellow turning red, C-, KC-, P+ yellow-orange. Chemistry: medulla with norstictic and connorstictic acids
