Distribution: N - TAA (Brackel 2016, Ravera & al. 2025), Lomb (Ravera & al. 2024a), Piem (Ravera & al. 2024a), VA (Ravera & al. 2024a).
Description: Thallus not evident, not lichenized, the hyphae developing inside the thalli of Bellemerea-species. Conidiomata arising singly, immersed, at first subspherical and pycnidioid, soon becoming cupulate to almost sporodochial, black, 100-450 μm in diam., the wall poorly distinct from the host tissues, colourless to pale olive-green, 10-20 μm thick, the outer 2-5 cell layers composed of loosely to moderately compacted, interwoven, thick-walled, hyaline, 2.5-3 μm thick hyphae, the inner part of thinner-walled, mainly isodiametrical, loosely packed 2-3.5 μm wide pseudoparenchymatous cells .which are scarcely distinguishable from conidiophores. Conidiophores forming a compact layer lining the inner wall, simple or sparingly branched, parallel to one another, hyaline, septate, 10-15 x 2-3.5 μm, of almost isodiametrical cells, somewhat constricted at septa. Conidiogenous cells thallic, acrogenous, integrated, terminal, determinate, subspherical to subcylindrical, resembling conidiophore cells but sometimes becoming olivaceous at the apex, 3-4 μm wide. Conidia arising in short basipetal chains, tightly adhering to those produced from adjacent conidiogenous cells to form multicellular propagules, these very irregular in shape but mainly 20-40 μm wide, dark olive green, K-, N+ purple, accumulating over the conidiogenous layer, the individual cells mainly simple, thick-walled, subspherical to angular by mutual compression, 6-8 μm wide, the walls roughened with a very irregular, granular-lacerate ornamentation. Photobiont absent (description slightly modified from Diederich & al. 2024).
Note: on smooth and hard, almost vertical surfaces of siliceous rocks in the subalpine (-alpine) belt, on the thalli of Bellemerea-species.
Growth form: Lichenicolous fungus
Substrata: rocks
Reproductive strategy: mainly asexual, by conidia and thalloconidia
