Synonyms:

Distribution: C - Tosc (Herb. von Brackel 361), Abr (Nascimbene & al. 2021).

Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, grey-green to brownish, when well-developed consisting of 60-200 μm wide warts. Perithecia black, slightly glossy, half-immersed, subspherical to slightly obpyriform, 0.12-0.23 mm across (in section). Exciple distinctly 2-layered, the outer layer dark brown, the inner layer pale brown to colourless; involucrellum absent; hymenial hemiamyloid; hamathecium of periphyses and periphysoids, interascal filaments absent. Asci 2-spored, clavate, thin-walled, fissitunicate with a very thin exoascus, surrounded by a hemiamyloid gel (K/I+ blue). Ascospores muriform, hyaline, ellipsoid, (40-)60-72(-90) x 15-24(-31) μm. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.

Note: a taxon described from maritime Northern France, where it colonises organic waste like paper, leather, etc.; elsewhere it was reported from soil rich in calcium in open vegetation types.

Photobiont: green algae other than Trentepohlia
