Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, rather thick, chalky white to dirty white, continuous to finely rimose. Perithecia black, immersed in the thallus, with a flattened ostiolar region, Paraphyses sparse, thread-like. Asci 8-spored, lanceolate. Ascospores 3-5-septate, hyaline, elongate-fusiform, straight to slightly curved, 29-36 x c. 4 µm. Spot tests: thallus K-, C-, KC-, P-. Chemistry: thallus without lichen substances.Note: a long-forgotten species, only known from the type collection, on limestone, which would be worthy of further study.
