Description: Thallus crustose, thinly episubstratic, continuous to verrucose, yellowish white, often delimited by a thin, dark prothallus. Apothecia biatorine, 0.2-0.8 mm across, black, soon convex and immarginate. Proper exciple dark olive-green to dark green in outer part, paler within; epithecium green; hymenium colourless, 70-80 µm high; paraphyses coherent; hypothecium colourless. Asci 8-spored. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline, narrowly ellipsoid, 14-18 x 4-5.5 µm. Photobiont chloroccoid. Spot tests: K+ pale to bright yellow, C-. KC-. Chemistry: unknown.Note: from the description this species appears to be related to Ramboldia elabens, differing in the intensely greenish epithecium, the pale hypothecium and the larger spores; the type material, collected on dry twigs of Larix, deserves further study.
