Description: Thallus inapparent, not lichenized, the hyphae developing inside the thalli of Lecanora cenisia. Apothecia lecideine, sessile and strongly constricted at base, with a strongly convex, black but densely greenish grey-pruinose disc and a thin, soon excluded proper margin. Proper exciple of 3-4 µm thick, colourless, elongated, branched, radially arranged hyphae, the apical cells strongly swollen, 3-4 µm wide, with dark green walls, the pigmented parts K-, C- N+ crimson red; epithecium green, 7-10 µm high, K-, C- N+ crimson red; hymenium colourless, 50-55 µm high; paraphyses simple or sparingly branched, mainly 2-3 µm thick, the apical cells, swollen, 3.5-4 µm wide; hypothecium colourless. Asci 8-spored, elongate-clavate, Lecanora-type. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline, broadly ellipsoid to subglobose, 8-10(-11) x 5-6 µm, without an epispore. Spot tests: all negative. Chemistry: unknown, probably without lichen substances.
Note: a non-lichenized species growing on the thalli of Lecanora cenisia, described from Greenland and also found in the mountains of the Balkan Peninsula. According to Rambold & Triebel (1992) it belongs to the Lecanora marginata-group.
