Distribution: N - TAA (M-0041700). C - Sar (Bungartz & al. 2004, Neuwirth 2018).
Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, rimose, whitish to pale brown, sometimes delimited by a dark prothallus. Medulla white, I-. Apothecia lecideine, black, 0.3-0.6 mm across, sessile, with a flat disc and a thin, persistent proper margin. Proper exciple thin, aethalea-type, the inner hyphae hyaline, prosoplectenchymatous, the outer hyphae parallel and usually strongly brown-pigmented, N-; epithecium brown, N-; hymenium colourless, not inspersed with oil droplets, 70-90 μm high; paraphyses c. 1.5 μm thick at mid-level, the apical cells swollen, up to 5 μm wide, brown-capped; hypothecium dark brown. Asci 8-spored, clavate, Bacidia-type. Ascospores 1-septate, brown, (9-)10-15(-16) x (5-)6-8(-9) μm, the wall minutely microrugulate, with a median thickening corresponding to the septum, at first Physconia-type, then Buellia-type. Pycnidia black, rare, globose, unilocular. Conidia thread-like, curved, (7-)15-35 × c. 1 μm. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
