provisionally placed here, ICN Art. 36.1b. . Basionym: Gyalecta odora Ach. ex Schaer. - Lich. Helv. Spicil., 1, 6-7: 361, 1826.
Synonyms: Aspicilia odora (Schaer.) A. Massal.; Ionaspis chrysophana auct.; Ionaspis odora (Schaer.) Stein; Pinacisca odora (Schaer.) Trevis.
Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, thin and continuous or rather thick and rimose, greenish, olive-brown or pinkish brown, without a distinct prothallus. Apothecia 0.1-0.4 mm across, semi-immersed in the thallus, with a flat, pale brown, orange-brown, pinkish brown or olive-black disc and a thin margin. Epithecium colourless to olive-yellowish, N- or N+ yellow-orange, K+ violet; hymenium colourless, 50-80 µm high; paraphyses mostly simple, submoniliform in upper part, not swollen at apex; hypothecium more or less colourless. Asci 8-spored, cylindrical-clavate, the outer wall K/I+ blue, but the inner walls and apical dome K/I-. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline, broadly ellipsoid, 8-14 x 5-7(-9.5) µm. Pycnidia semi-immersed, the wall greenish, K+ violet. Conidia short-bacilliform, 5.7-7.5 x 0.6 0.8 µm. Photobiont trentepohlioid, the cells 10-18 µm wide. Spot tests: thallus K- or K+ violet, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
