Lecidea albofuscescens Nyl.

Synonyms: Biatora albofuscescens (Nyl.) Arnold; Lecidea dolera Nyl.
Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, usually thin, continuous and smooth to finely granular-verruculose, mostly whitish. Apothecia lecideine, 0.3-0.6 mm across, dark brown to blackish brown, appressed, with a flat to finally convex disc, and a thin, often persistent but usually finally excluded proper margin. Proper exciple colourless in outer part, brown-black to dark red-brown within; epithecium dark brown, devoid of crystals; hymenium colourless; paraphyses coherent; hypothecium brown-black to dark red-brown, without blue-violet granules. Asci 8-spored, narrowly clavate. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline, ellipsoid, 9-12 x 4-5.5 µm, with a warted wall. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: thallus K-, C-, KC-, P-. Chemistry: not known, probably without lichen substances.
