Lecidella laureri (Hepp) Körb.
Syst. Lich. Germ.: 246, 1855. Basionym: Biatora laureri Hepp - Flecht. Eur.: nr. 4, 1853.
Synonyms: Lecidea euphorea var. laureri (Hepp) Vain.; Lecidea laureri (Hepp) Anzi
Description: Thallus crustose, episubstratic, markedly thick, coarsely granulose, verrucose or almost subsquamulose, whitish. Apothecia lecideine, sessile, 0.6-1 mm across, with a usually convex, brownish-black, but finely bluish white-pruinose disc, and a thin, soon excluded proper margin. Epithecium olive-green; hymenium colourless, inspersed with oil droplets; paraphyses easily made free in K, simple, rarely anastomosing or branched in upper part, not capitate; hypothecium reddish brown. Asci 8-spored, clavate, with an intensely K/I+ blue tholus penetrated by a faintly amyloid, broadly cylindrical axial mass, and a poorly developed ocular chamber, the wall K/I-, surrounded by a K/I+ blue outer layer, approaching the Lecanora-type. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline, thick-walled, broadly ellipsoid, 7-16(-18) x 4-10 µm. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: thallus K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: not known.
