Synonyms:
Description: Thallus crustose, thinly episubstratic, subgelatinous when wet, dark brown to dark greenish brown, consisting of minutely granulose, goniocyst-like units with a brown pigment at the surface. Perithecia black, forming 0.15-0.25(-0.3) mm wide projections, partly immersed in thallus. Exciple brown throughout; involucrellum absent; hymenium colourless, I+ reddish; hymenial algae globose-cuboid, c. 3 μm wide; hamathecium of periphyses and periphysoids, interascal filaments absent. Asci 8-spored, clavate, the wall thickened above, with an ocular chamber, after dehiscence with a delicate extruded endotunica, I-, K/I-. Ascospores muriform, hyaline to yellowish brown when old, ellipsoid, 28-35(-37) x 11-18 μm. Photobiont chlorococcoid, present in both thallus and hymenium. Spot tests: K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
