Synonyms:
Description: Thallus crustose, granulose, endosubstratic or thinly episubstratic and developed only around the apothecia, generally inconspicuous, pale green-grey or grey. Apothecia biatorine, orange-red to scarlet red, 0.05-0.2(-0.3) mm across, with a strongly convex disc, without a distinct margin. Proper exciple poorly developed, K-; epithecium bright golden yellow, 10-20 µm thick, K-; hymenium golden yellow in parts, (60-)70-85(-95) µm high, I+ blue; paraphyses 1(-1.5) µm thick, richly branched and anastomosing, not thickened at apex; hypothecium colourless to pale yellow, 25-50 µm hiugh. Asci 50-100-spored, broadly clavate, thickened in upper part, without a gelatinous outer layer, the wall and well-developed apical dome strongly K/I+ blue. Ascospores 1-celled, hyaline to orange, globose, (3.5-)4-4.5 µm wide. Photobiont chlorococcoid, with ellipsoid cells. Spot tests: K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
