Gyalecta thelotremella Bagl.

Synonyms: Petractis thelotremella (Bagl.) Vězda
Description: Thallus crustose, thinly episubstratic or partly endosubstratic, 100-400 µm thick, continuous to finely rimose, pinkish white to yellowish white, turning white in the herbarium. Apothecia 0.2-0.3 mm across, immersed in the thallus and partly in the rock, at first covered with a thin thalline layer which soon disrupts leaving a kind of false thalline margin, appearing perithecioid when young, the disc later expanded, concave, pale yellow to flesh-coloured, smooth, surrounded by a thin, whitish proper margin. Proper exciple to 40 μm thick in upper part, colourless, often with crystals of calcium oxalates; epithecium colourless; hymenium colourless, 130-180 μm high; paraphyses 1.2-1.5 μm thick at mid-level, the apical cells hardly swollen; hypothecium colourless, c. 20 μm high. Asci 8-spored, thin-walled, lacking an apical apparatus or tholus, the wall K/I+ blue. Ascospores muriform with 3-5 transverse septa and 1-3 longitudinal septa, ellipsoid to broadly ovoid, 14-25 x 7-12 μm, not halonate. Pycnidia completely immersed in the thallus. Conidia bacilliform, straight, 6-7 x c. 1 μm. Photobiont trentepohlioid. Spot tests: thallus K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
