Thelidium subrimulatum (Nyl.) Zschacke

Synonyms: Thelidium opacum J. Lahm
Description: Thallus crustose, thinly episubstratic, continuous to finely fissured, grey to grey-brown. Perithecia black, (0.2-)0.3-0.5 mm across, largely immersed in the thallus. Involucrellum thick, reaching almost the base of the perithecium, diverging from exciple especially in lower part; exciple mostly colourless; hamathecium of periphyses and periphysoids, interascal filaments absent; hymenial gel I+ red (I+ blue at very low concentrations of I), K/I+ blue. Asci 8-spored, narrowly ellipsoid to clavate, I-, fissitunicate, the wall thickened above, with an ocular chamber, dehiscent by extrusion of a delicate rostrum. Ascospores 1-3-septate, hyaline, ellipsoid, 20-36 x 8-17 μm. Photobiont chlorococcoid. Spot tests: K-, C-, KC-, P-, UV-. Chemistry: without lichen substances.
