Ascomata conical in section, black, single, fully immersed in pseudostromata. Pseudostromata 0.8–1.3 mm diam., superficial, carbonized, with flattemed top, without pigment. Ostioles apical, rusty brown. Hamathecium inspersed with hyaline oil droplets. Ascospores 8/ascus, 3-septate, hyaline, 85–95 × 22–25 μm, lumina diamond-shaped or not. Chemistry: thallus and pseudostromata UV-, K-. TLC: no secondary substances detected.
